I love the sticky notes. And I love the apparent conversation between Grammont and the sticky note on the eye patch. (which makes me wonder. does the eye patch predate Grammont or was that something that came later?) And I double love Stas' reaction to said.

If it was, that might have been all that was needed--a burst of 'run' before the computer was shut down.

The computer is shut down, but it has the text of Bite Me on it?

Settling himself as comfortably as he could in a chair designed for a terem-dweller, he flicked up the privacy screens, ran a few mousetraps through the system, and made a call.

1) Hee! Mousetraps. I missed that the first time through.

2) How would a chair designed for whatever-he's-expecting differ?

"Boss, have you got data on things like seal pressure for the vezhi?"

"Officially, no. Why?"

*cackles* More love. <3

Even if the general's face was really, really funny, and the odds of successfully getting two unprotected men out a window and safely into a horse (let alone unseen) were so ( ... )

I think the eyepatch predates her, but she took very cheerful advantage of its presence.

Computer shut down; someone starts to turn it on to check for interestingness. Computer sez: Rar!
Hence, 'bite me.'

Stas is used to slightly more padding and less gravity--he's usually strapped into whatever chair he's using, instead of properly sitting in it.

I'm not actually certain how it got managed. Will have to poke. :)

Easter egg: From the Doyle & MacDonald book The Price of the Stars (Sinclair's original sparkpoint), specifically regarding the alternate names of the horse. Pride of Mandeyn was the alternate name of the spaceship Warhammer. :) (Sinclair sparked from the disguise/alter-ego of one of the main characters of the book, who captained Warhammer.)

Makes sense. ...what did he use the computer for, and how does he operate it? *nosy!*

Ahahaaaa... <3

Wouldn't not having gravity and having to be strapped to the chair result in less padding? Possibly cushier padding, but not needing to take the weight of a person. Except possibly in fun and interesting maneuvers.

*sits over here, bein' curious like*

Aha. Neat. =)
