His favourite skin hung stiff and heavy without anything in it, and it overlapped his belt by a crucial handspan of centimeters.
I understand how she'd know this from previous observation but it was unclear to me where this came from in that situation since she had no eyes.
The last time she'd used that particular one her human had been distracted from his line of reasoning long enough to actually say "Did someone just ask if she named her favourite reindeer 'Lunch'?"

It amuses! Have we seen the first time she did this to him?

Heh. Heh heh heh heh.
Have we seen the first time she did this to him?
Nope! Not yet. He's obviously long since accustomed to it by the time Witches' Horses rolls around, but he'd have had several more incidents like this one to help with that.

Not quite by the seat of his pants, but much closer-to than he'd have preferred. Why yes, he is good at what he does . .
*cackle!* In different circumstances, that's much what she would have said, yes.

...is that the footage she made of how they eat a human body?
Also? Her human makes bad plans. =|

Her human fell obediently silent when she clacked the 'Be quiet, I'm listening' tones she would have to sent to a colt.
I like the implication that he's learning a bit of her language as well.
"Ah, Gospodin Vamvakidis, wonderful of you to join me," her human remarked pleasantly. "Would you be so kind as to close the door?"

"Captain Sinclair," he said, and she wanted to strip out all the components of his vocal cords all over again, to get the gunk and rust out.
Makes me wonder what Sinclair thinks of his voice.
Her human's derisive bark was an adequate substitute, she acknowledged grudgingly, knowing the face that accompanied that sound from vast troves of archives. It's neat seeing her wanting to be part of what Sinclair's doing in a more immediate way. And that she's judging his responses as to how they fill in for ( ... )

I really do feel a bit sorry for Ilya, who's going to witness what might as well be a long-married couple sniping at one another. All. The. Time. >.>

I got nothin'. =/
Love that line. Love how he reacts to this whole situation.
It's all interesting and sharp, and she's still not sure how much is truth-as-truth.
ahaha. hahahaaa. hahaahahahaaaaaa. *dies*

So much here about their life and their relationship. <3
She silently added a subroutine to letting him out of the stall; if she couldn't tell he'd put on armour, he wasn't allowed out. She didn't think he'd risk trying to override a hatch on her, and she should be faster than he was at rewriting the stall door.
Oh, I'd love to see the fight that results from her doing something like this, sometime.
"Am I the sort of engineer who would threaten you bodily for oranges?"
Pausing in the middle of shrugging into his black skin, he contemplated the wall between two of her eyes, and then shrugged. "If you'd like to be."
Occasionally, their conversations are just so surreal...
They argued for five minutes about the list before she stole back the mouse she'd left on the kitchen table for him to revise that version, too. He was right, she'd figured for too long in the black for the ( ... )

*laughing!* I'll see what I can do.
Ah, the joys of figuring out inventory for imaginary people and situations...
I love that they ARGUE about it--that they both have opinions about it, and that neither of 'em are necessarily right.
Explain container?
Impression I get is a sealable compartment mounted on/in his boot that can be accessed in vacuum without exposing his skin. Sealing it where he did means that the knife handle shows--the container's acting as a boot-sheath.
Love this detail.
Thank you. :) The efforts they go to for Company is ... impressive.
