...honestly, i wouldn't expect coherence.

"I don't expect I'll be leaving this field, son. But they haven't been hurting apprentices who run, which means you need to get going."

sadly, i kinda like him, i think.

the kid's got balls, but there's no need to be suicidal. you go on and run and deliver that message, kid, there's plenty of time to die.

No, but I was expecting somewhat less zen. =|

I like him too, although not giving me a name is annoying. >.>

*laughs!* Yeah, one suspects that apprentice would have risen in the ranks, if our narrator had lived to see the paperwork through. Balls and brains should be rewarded.

*nods* I need to start getting names and locations for the Council end of things (also names for the smaller players on the De'Ath end, and rough numbers). Stupid story. =P

:) Thank you. I was a little frustrated because his pov is so calm about the legends coming out of the woodwork, but it's nice that at least some of the effect is still coming through.

Heh, yeah, this one and Roberts (who wasn't named when I wrote miscalculation but that's who that is) are definitely among the more likable of the council set, at least to my eyes, for much the reason you're describing--they don't try to walk away.

:) He and Roberts are actually rather likable (which I find peculiar only in that I'm first meeting them at the end of their runs, as opposed to believing that the councils are indeed unmitigated evil). It's going to be interesting getting to know the councils better--because some of them are, indeed, bad scenes, but others are relatively sane and very much what the councils were originally designed and meant to be.

Also, this guy needs to give me a name. =|

I do like this narrator, but he has this weird sort of calm to him that sort of permeates, even though he's watching nightmares come to life.

... Yeah, that's a really good way of putting it. I was expecting a lot more of an edge than I got.
