Notes: Based on a comment I tossed zero_pixel_coun's way after she gave me "escaped horses & ensuing panic" for a spark.

I am very tempted not to give you anything more than that. *solemn* My brain hurts.

When he had something like his wind back, he started up with the cheerful tenor nonsense again, watching for flicking ears and eyes as he moved among the slowed bodies.

That's an awesome image.

then strung her a lead out of wishes

And an awesome line.

"So are you sending people with gear, or am I supposed to get them all home on my lonesome?"

"Shut up, Ruadhan," Donel replied reflexively, then extracted his brain from the tone to process the words. "Anyone missing?"

Ruadhan is snarky, tired love. <3 As are reflexive retorts.

"Bordeaux find anything yet?"

"Yes," his brother said, then the bastard dropped the connection.

<3

I'm sorry, still not horribly coherent. But hey.

...i could've used that trick a few times. but then again, it's much harder (and more dangerous) to snag them stampeded on purpose, then just over-exciting running around in circles gleefully acting the fool.

i like all their reactions, and how donel's ordering wolves, and the thinking thru the rush, and i came to the conclusion that they'd been spooked on purpose only two lines before they figured it out. =D

sabaey-weight rifle?

Oh, awesome; I had no idea how that was going to come across. :D

Yeh, mages, Sabaeys and werewolves can wander around with small cannons disguised as rifles and not worry nearly as much about recoil as anything like a normal issue human would need to be concerned with. >.>

nope, it reads well; chasing down horses is a pain. in. the. ass. because there's that potential for it just becoming a big "look, they're chasing me! RUN MOAR" cycle.

that makes sense--i assumed "heavier" but i didn't follow the implications all the way thru.

I like the bitter in Donel's voice, when he's been up trying to keep Ruadhan's horses in :)

*snerk* Donel's so going to beat the shit out of Ruadhan if he finds out Ruadhan's making his job harder than it has to be . . :)

Ruadhan's apparently been experimenting with word-magic, in the Trickwood (hence the cursing fires into existence so he doesn't have to take off his gloves in the winter, or accidentally exploding water jars, etc), so putting enough intent behind a string of words could get Interesting. :)

*laaaaaughing* :)
