The site was old, long since fallen to the weeds and the trees--he found a tree growing in what looked like the ruin of the armoury that was as thick around as Belladonna's torso

despite the crazy mage blood tag, and the impulse that drove him there in the first place, hernen keeps striking as solidly pragmatic. it may be due to the progression, or it might be in sense of relatively speaking, but it's still there.

and i like him and belladonna working together.

I think Belladonna is still calling him 'crazy mageblood' because she's a shit, as opposed to she honestly thinks he is, still. Because he really is very pragmatic for what he is; he's hard to get to go scattered-Sabaey-glee. :)
