How about an alternative version of how the dwarves escaped - a Galion/Kili tale of true love against all odds?
Or Thranduil/Kili - Thranduil is the evil jailer and Kili the helpless captive? lol
But I couldn't write Legolas with anyone other than an elf, and preferably Elrohir or Glorfindel. So you can tell Glorfindel to calm down - I'm still working on a new Glorfindel/Legolas tale :)
Yes, I like how they're each being given a detailed back-story. I'm really looking forward to the film. Of course, the fact that Legolas will be in it helps :)
*g* Well, Legolas/Gimli is about the closest you can get to a canon slash pairing. But personally I couldn't write Legolas with anyone other than an elf, so Kili's safe from me :)
I'm not normally a dwarf person and I don't read that pairing anymore - it's how I got into slash at first...but they do seem like a canon couple to me, whether it was physical or not.
Kili's got very nice hair indeed though. He reminds me oddly of Seth Green in that photo.

Oddly, I've always imagined Fili and Kili as twins (long, long before I got the hots for Elladan and Elrohir!) and very alike.
The other dwarves have been given a lot more character and personality than Tolkien gave them, too. I think I'm looking forward to the film :>)
