Dad: Oh my god! Your new computer?!

Have you tried going into My Computer, right clicking the drive and selecting "Eject"? I know this might be obvious if you're well-versed... I'm just used to my parents.

I also don't know if you're on PC or Mac. :P

Ugh.

I had my disc drives on my desktop completely disappear a few years ago after installing Nero. Once I did a system restore to before I installed, they came back.

... This may not work so you don't have to take my word for it but I remember my Journalism teacher in high school would poke a pin through this little hole in the disc drive and that'd usually force it open.
