Month-long TV Meme - Day #25 -  A show you plan on watching (old or new).

Jun 25, 2010 10:07

When nicis_anatomy started to post this meme last month, I promised her that I would do it in June. So I am keeping my promise. From seeing Nici's posts last month, I know several of my answers will be the same as hers.

I have never badgered or nagged you into watching something!!

*thinks...*

Oh. Er. Yes, well. I suppose there was West Wing. And Black Books.

*grins sheepishly*

I've seen a handful of SGA eps - generally the RDA ones - but it has never been a show I've had any real interest in. I had no urge to watch the new one either, even though Robert Carlyle is in it & I adore him. I remain a little bitter towards SGA as when it came out it pinched lots of the good SG-1 fic writers and in my mind it will always be responsible for the squishy pairing names as 'McShep' was the fist time I'd ever seen this.

These are not good (or indeed fair!) reasons to dislike a show however, so I look forward to hearing what you & J think of it!

*Watches your nose grow*

*Grins*

*Giggles* Well apart from those two, no, you haven't.

I have to say I have this feeling we won't end up hooked by it. I don't know why, just a feeling I have. I may be quite wrong though. I think, actually, from what has been said those damn squished names existed in Buffy before SGA - Spuffy and Spander.

*Grins* I shall report back in due course.

I think it may have reached Staffs by now *g* Come back nose!

Ah, I never saw them in Buffy even when i did read the odd bit of fic. Spander? Seriously? I think I would have to move pairings at that point! I choose to blame SGA however :)

I can't say as it did much for me and I figure if I didn't get hooked when it was shiny and new and full of squee I never will.

*waits patiently....*

Helps reel nose in *g*

I didn't see them, but when I was 'ranting' about them at some point, someone mentioned they'd popped up in Buffy - maybe there weren't that many. Oh, yes, seriously *shakes head* You blame away.

That makes perfect sense to me.

*Smiles*

Funnily enough, I've just starting rewatching from the pilot ep - I plan to work my way through all 5 seasons again.
It really is the biggest fandom love I've ever had, & John & Rodney just make me smile no matter what. They're the OTP of all my OTPs. ♥

I hope you enjoy your rewatch *g*

Gibbs/Ducky is my John/Rodney - as I'm sure you know.

Ha it's not me!!

But it's definitely a show you SHOULD watch. Some SG1 characters will be in it, but Atlantis is so much fun!! It's a whole new playground.

Don't start watching Stargate Universe though. IMO, it shouldn't even be called part of the Stargate franchise as it's... odd.

No, not you. She isn't on LJ.

We'll see how the first two eps grab us. I'll report back when we have.

I've heard how dreadful that is :-(

the first two episodes are quite good. Make sure you watch more than the pilot though before you make your decision. In fact, watch the pilot, then the season finale and then season 2.

Sorta.

I have the first two eps on DVD, so that'll be what we'll go on.

You can't skip to the final - well I couldn't. I have to watch in order *g*

You know what I'm like.

I'll be the odd gal out. I never could get into SGA at all. I liked a couple of characters but the cast had zero chemistry to me. *bad kat* I did enjoy SG1 for many years. Haven't tried the new one. So until you try, you'll never know. I did meet Torri Higginson at a charity event and she was very sweet and funny. So I tried to like it so much! It was disappointing for me not to.

You're not the odd one out plutos_revenge didn't get into it either. It'll be interesting to see what we think of it, and whether it does work for us.
