Month-long TV Meme - Day #20 - Favourite kiss.

Jun 20, 2010 12:36

When nicis_anatomy started to post this meme last month, I promised her that I would do it in June. So I am keeping my promise. From seeing Nici's posts last month, I know several of my answers will be the same as hers.

*clears throat* Ahem. Yeah, you can pretty much guess what I'm gonna say... *g*

I have many issues with the ending of this ep, this being just one. But. Did not want.

I'm determined to come up with an answer for this question myself. It may take some time though...

I have quite a list for day 23 however!

Given your loathing of on-screen pairings, I imagine this one would take some doing *g*

It really was an out in the left field question, I felt. It was a more shippy question than a TV question.

So do I. And I also have several levels of annoying, i.e. 'annoying, but really, really like', 'annoying but dislike', 'annoying but don't give a damn about', etc. I keep changing my mind over it.

I may be here a while.... *g*. I actually used to be a fan of several canon pairings and indeed non-canon ones too. And I did like the S2 Jack/Ianto relationship in TW

It is a little. As indeed is tomorrow's question. Are you taking it as canon or fandom ships?

Oooh, I hadn't even thought of levels of annoyance! I was working in the 'annoying & would like to never see again on my screen' area. Interesting... :)

*Grins* I thought you might. *Falls of chair* Wow.

I was going for fandom ship as canon hadn't occurred to me, but . . . Now you raise the question and given I may have come up with another 30 Days meme for next month, I just might changed my mind and go with canon. Hmmm, thank you for that question (or not given that it was the one of the few questions I hadn't had to think too hard about *g*). And TBH, canon does fit more. *Eyes you*

My mind works in strange ways at times *g* It's like my levels of ships, really. So I'm still trying to decide and also trying to ensure (as I said before) I don't overuse a show too much.

I never actually shipped Ten/Rose as such, I always thought they were a lovely couple.

I think that's my position as well. That moment in New Earth, when Rose says, "Traveling with you, I love it," and they just TWINKLE at each other...no matter what you think of Rose or Ten/Rose or shipping the Doctor at all, you can't get away from the pure sweetness of that scene.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one with this opinion.

Oh, yes, that scene *Melts*

I'd actually forgotten all about that kiss. The most memorable Doctor Who kiss for me was probably the Jack Nine kiss which I was so surprised to see on a family show.

I was glad in a way that Rose finally got to be happy with a version of the Doctor she could be with, but I still still think it was a better ending for Rose to never see the Doctor again, as the storyline in her last episode was slightly disappointing.

Ironically, I thought that the quality of Dr Who would be improved by Stephen Moffatt taking over the show as he's always written the best episodes. I wonder if they'll ever do another multiple Doctors story. I think David Tennant would probably be up for one given a long enough of a break from the show. I doubt if Christopher Eccleston would. Of course there is the Dcotor's copy in Rose's universe which could probably be brought back without even the need for a multiple Doctor story.

I'd forgotten about the Jack/Nine kiss, so there you go. But yes, it was indeed surprising to see.

I think bringing her back at all really was a mistake. It did take away some of the poignancy of her going in the way she did.

It would be interesting to see another multiple Doctor story, that could be great fun.

I admit I not a great fan of Ten (Eleven however suddenly owns my Doctor Who soul) but that was a good kiss.

I have my own issues with Rose constantly returning but I will save them for another day ;-)

I know you weren't. Really? Wow. It was indeed.

I too wasn't that fond of Rose constantly reappearing either.

Yes. I adpred the finale on Saturday. I think it helps the Merlin fandom has a number of Doctor Who fans too (partly I suspect because Colin Morgan guest starred in the episode 'Midnight' in DT's 4th season).

It was.

I think really there were too many goodbyes. Even when she was totally stranded she found a way back.

Oh, good. Ah, that's interesting.

I think so too. It lessened what happened to her really.
