NCIS - My fannish journey

Mar 05, 2009 14:46

Unlike some fandoms NCIS is a very open to all and every pairing fandom and that is one of the many reasons I love it so much. ( At least it is here on LJ, from a few comments I have heard over the years I've been involved  sadly it isn't quite the same on some lists)So I don't see Gibbs/DiNozzo as a couple (the main pairing) but that doesn't ( Read more... )

general series: ncis, pairing (het): abby/mcgee, fandom: ncis, pairing (slash): gibbs/ducky, media fandom : meta

*Munches on cookie* and says how much I enjoyed reading about your NCIS journey. I shall be rejoining the journey myself when Buffy is concluded (we're almost at the end of season 6). Also have to confess (in small voice) that when we were watching I very much *did* see Gibbs/Dinozzo and looked forward every ep to that slap around the head. Not to mention waiting avidly for the moments Gibbs kisses Abby on the cheek. Lots to love about this series and had NO IDEA you'd been with it since 2005!

Hee. I'm glad you're enjoying your cookie :-)

And I'm really glad you enjoyed my rambling story. I am also really pleased to hear how much you're still enjoying Buffy. It's such a good season.

*Chuckles* ah, did you now? I love the Gibbs & Abby moments, but personally I only see them as father & daughter, but can clearly see why folk can ship them.

It's been quite a few years. I think what is so surprising is that I still haven't run out of ideas - but maybe that is partly due to expanding my horizons, so to speak.

Another 'crazy' soul *g* I hope you enjoy the virtual cookie. Thank you for reading and I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

From time to time I wait for the other shoe to drop and someone to pop up and start to slag pairings off, etc. But then I think that there are so many people involved who are so open and so protective of keeping the fandom open to all that it wouldn't be tolerated. And a lot of the user information on various comms points out that no flaming will be tolerated.

I laughed so much when I re-read that comment I'd made - I hadn't remembered it as being quite so definite *chuckles*

Now I've learnt something there too, I had no idea you shipped Tony/Ziva in the beginning, how interesting. All the more so, as you say, because you now no longer see it at all.

It's really lovely, I think, how those things happen. How wonderful.

*Smiles* Aww, thank you.

I think it is, yes. I really do.

Thanks again for reading my rambles.

I did enjoy it indeed, thanks. :D You're welcome, it was really interesting.

I think too that it wouldn't be tolerated. And that's really a good thing. I'm very glad that I haven't made too bad expieriences in fandom in general, which is now that I think of it quite surprising because I tend to ship unusual pairings.

*chuckles with you* It is funny how ships sneak into our hearts sometimes. :D

*smiles* I can't believe I once did now.

Indeed!

My pleasure. :D

Good. I am glad.

Indeed it wouldn't - which is good. I'm glad you haven't had bad experiences either. Unusual pairings are interesting.

I know. I know.

I was surprised to read it, I must say.

:-)

That was quite a long and interesting journey. I think NCIS must be the fandom with the most pairings in it.

*Hands over virtual cookie*

Thank you - I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I would think it would be way up there, yes. Buffy maybe has more/the same, especially if you take Buffyverse as one encompassing fandom. But I honestly don't know. I'm not involved.

And we all get on so well.

Ohh, cookie, thank you :)

I'm not involved in the Buffyverse either, but I would say you're right. There's a lot more characters to play with, though.

That's true, it's very rare in the fandoms I am/have been involved with, that more or less everyone get on really well.

You're welcome :-)

And from what I've seen it's another show where pretty much everyone is shipped at some time with pretty much everyone else.

Indeed it is - and wonderful though.

*enjoys cookie*

I brought the expresso.

*g*

I am still smiling at the I do not see any slash in NCIS, none at all comment.

That is an interesting journey.

Thanks for your comment. I am glad that I could help you branch out too.
My OTP is still G/D, but it is just too much fun to not to read or write the occasional other story.
A credit to the open-ness of the fandom, I think.

Hee. Another person who made it through.

*Giggles* And good it is too.

Yes *wry grin* I hadn't remembered my comment as being quite so definite as that *g*

Thank you. I'm so glad you enjoyed my journey.

But of course it is. And having fun is what it is all about, it really is.

Oh, yes. Very, very much so.

Thank you for reading.
