SUMMARY: Ducky is angry with Gibbs.

"It does not become you, Jethro."

"What?"

"The color green."

"Huh?"

Ducky sighed. "Jealousy."

Jethro gave a short laugh. "Don't know what you mean, Duck."

"Do you not?" Ducky's tone was cool.

"No."

Ducky stared hard at Jethro, uncertain as to whether his oldest friend spoke the truth or not. Could he possibly not be aware of what he was betraying?

"You going to tell me?"

"Do you really want to know?"

Jethro shrugged. "Well, something's got you pissed, so you'd better."

For a moment Ducky closed his eyes. When he opened them again Jethro was staring somewhat belligerently at him. "Why did you just all but drag me away from the gentleman with whom I was conversing?"

"Needed to ask you something." Just for a second, Jethro's gaze flickered away.

"Really?"

"Yeah." Again Jethro's gaze skittered away.

"Something that could not wait?"

"Duck. What the hell's up with you?"

Ducky swallowed and took a chance. Moving forward until he was right inside Jethro's personal space, getting closer than they normally stood. "Are you certain that was the reason, Jethro? Are you sure it wasn't the fact that you were," he paused. "Jealous?"

"Jealous? What the fuck am I meant to be jealous of?"

"The fact that the man with whom I was talking was obviously gay and equally obvious 'interested' in me." At the look that crossed Jethro's face, Ducky didn't know whether to laugh or cry. It appeared Jethro really had no idea of what his behavior was showing; either that or he was an even better 'actor' than Ducky knew him to be.

Deciding that as he'd come this far, he might as well finish, Ducky said softly, "And it wasn't the first time either. Think about it." And with those words, Ducky turned and walked away.

TITLE: Wake Up Call
SUMMARY: A sequel to Unbecoming. Gibbs thinks about what Ducky said.

Jethro stood mouth slightly open watching Ducky as he walked away from him.

He was tempted to go after him, stop him and tell him he was mistaken. Of course he wasn't jealous! Why the hell would he be? He didn't want Ducky himself, did he?

Of course he didn't. He wasn't gay; hell he wasn't even bi. He didn't want Ducky for himself; he didn't care who Ducky slept with, did he? Course not. Therefore he wasn't jealous. Therefore Duck was wrong.

So why had he interrupted Ducky's conversation with the guy he been talking to? Duck was right about one thing, what he had to ask him wasn't important. Couldn't have been given that Ducky had left before he'd had a chance to say whatever it was he was going to say. It was just that, well, he hadn't like the look of the guy; he hadn't seemed 'right' for Ducky.

Would anyone be? The voice in his head came so loudly, he'd looked around him to see who'd spoken before he realized it was his mind.

"And it wasn't the first time either. Think about it." Now the words Ducky'd said to him came to his mind.

Wasn't it? No, it wasn't. It wasn't by far.

Ducky was right. Damn it, but Ducky was right. If he saw Ducky talking to some other guy, he had to interrupt. He had to -

Shit. Ducky was right again. He was jealous. He didn't like Ducky talking to anyone else, certainly not anyone who might be interested in him.But what did that mean?

Did it mean he wanted Ducky for himself?

Suddenly in a moment of startling clarity, he realized it did.

And he realized something else: he had to do something about it. Now.

"Flowers," he said, as he jogged out of the building to his car.

TITLE: Case Closed
SUMMARY: A sequel to Wake Up Call. Jethro goes to see Ducky.

"Jethro." Ducky was surprised to see Jethro outside his front door. His surprise increased as Jethro handed him a bouquet of roses.

"These are for you. And these." Now Jethro gave him a bouquet of carnations. "Didn't know what you liked, so I got both. Plus these." Three boxes of chocolates followed the flowers. "And this. Now, this I do know you like." He held out a bottle of Ducky's favorite scotch.

Ducky arms were too full of flowers and chocolates to take the proffered bottle. "Jethro," he said, trying not to drop anything. "Are you feeling quite well?"

"Sure. Feel great in fact. Can I come in?"

"Yes, of course. Please do." Ducky stepped back, still juggling his bundle. He watched in bemusement as Jethro shut the front door and then locked and bolted it behind him. "Jethro?"

"Yeah?"

"Please do no think I am objecting, I am not, quite the opposite in fact. However, why?"

"Huh?"

"Why are you, well, I think 'showering me with gifts' would be a correct term."

"You were right." Jethro took a step towards him and then another.

"I was?"

"Yeah."

"About what in particular?" Ducky began to unload the gifts onto the hall table.

"I was jealous."

"Ah."

"Didn't want anyone else to have you."

Ducky felt his mouth grow dry. "Anyone else?" he said softly. "Jethro, are you," he paused. It was ridiculous, it couldn't be. Could it? He swallowed. "Are you saying what I think you're saying?"

"Guess that depends on what you think I'm saying." Jethro moved even closer, so close Ducky could feel the warmth emanating from his body. "I want you, Duck."

"Do you?"

"Yeah. I do. I really do. And I'm going to prove it to you." With great care Jethro gathered Ducky into his arms.

TITLE: Seeing Is Believing
SUMMARY: A sequel to Case Closed. Jethro and Ducky take their relationship to the next stage, but all doesn't quite go according to plan.

Once he had Ducky in his arms, Jethro bent his head and put his mouth on Ducky's.

The contact was electrifying; his entire body became alive as he kissed Ducky. The hint of awkwardness he'd felt at the second his lips made contact with Ducky's fled, and he realised just how right it felt.

It wasn't just right; it was - Well beyond description. And he wanted more, a kiss wasn't enough. He wanted to touch Ducky, he wanted to take him to bed and make love to him. And from the feel of Ducky's body as it pressed against his, Ducky felt the same.

"Bed?" he made it a question.

Ducky nodded before kissing him again.

It took several minutes, but finally they were standing in Ducky's bedroom. Jethro had his hands on the ends of Ducky's bowtie when - the lights went out. They both stood still, holding onto one another and waiting. But the wait was in vain.

"There's a torch on the nightstand."

"I'll get it. You stay here." He wasn't about to risk Ducky tripping over in the dark. Ignoring the logic that said 'it's Ducky's bedroom, you're the one who's likely to trip over', he felt his way to the bed and found it.

He switched it on. "Got another one?"

"Not here. However, I do have a battery operated lamp." Ducky moved to the dresser.

"Good."

"Why?"

"Because I want to see you."

"But, Jethro, why don't we -"

"I want to be sure this is real, Duck. I want to see you naked under my hands. Now come here." And Jethro caught Ducky's hand and began to undress him.

"You, Dr. Mallard," he said, a few minutes later. "Are beautiful."

"Oh, Jethro, really. I -"

But Jethro was tired of talking, so he kissed Ducky instead.

TITLE: Beyond Reason
SUMMARY: A sequel to Seeing Is Believing. Jethro has fallen asleep. Ducky, however, is still awake.

As he lay in Jethro's arms Ducky felt the most loved, the most cherished, the most treasured person in world. He was happy; he was overwhelmed with joy.

He was utterly and totally delighted, ecstatic beyond all reason because finally the thing, the person, he had wanted for decades was now his.

Jethro's lovemaking had been the most tender, the most intimate, the most giving Ducky had ever experienced. For a man who had never touched another man sexually, Jethro's caresses and kisses had been perfection. He seemed to be able to read what Ducky wanted, seemed to know how Ducky liked to be kissed, touched, stroked, held, how he liked to be made love to.

In spite of the fact that neither the lighting nor the heating had come back on, Ducky felt warm, he felt very warm, he felt certain he was radiating heat. Even though Jethro had finally fallen asleep more than half an hour ago, Ducky's skin still tingled from the loving it had experienced. He felt aglow with the love Jethro had shown him.

Next to him Jethro's body was also still heated, especially where it pressed against Ducky. He was a little surprised, but delighted, to discover that Jethro liked to cuddle. He'd been expecting that, once they'd ceased to make love, Jethro would kiss him and move away - but he hadn't. Instead he gathered Ducky into his arms and settled down to sleep still holding him, very possessively.

But sleep wasn’t what Ducky's body wanted, because as he lay recalling the way he'd been loved, a different kind of heat began to travel through him.

Feeling just a little daring, Ducky put his lips to Jethro's ear and murmured, "Wake up, Jethro. I am getting cold. I need you to warm me up."
