What are your five favourite canonical romances?

1. Abigail Sciuto/Timothy McGee (NCIS)
2. Buffy Summers/Angel (Buffy The Vampire Slayer)

I did try to think of 5 canonical pairings and it's darn hard.
Reading other comments ;-) I think Frank/Margaret has to be one because erm...it's canon and I can't see either of them with anyone else
Fraser/Vecchio...oh damn...that's not canon is it? well aside form PH saying if ever 2 people loved each other it was Benny and Ray and the fact the subtext screams out married coupleGibbs/Ducky when DPB gets the memo ( ... )

Now that's an excellent point!

It certainly is!

Rather like G/D . . .
I like your choices, they are interesting.
I forgot all about DS9, because Worf/Dax were a good couple, ditto the O'Brien's. I rather liked Kira/Odo, in fact in some ways the whole DS9 series was ruined for me by the ending :-(
Inspector Morse - Lewis/Mrs Lewis (book canon) - I am really stretching this aren't I?
:-) I think one has to!
Sorry for rambling. And I seem to see more het than slash...how odd,
You're not rambling. I don't think it's odd at all; four out of my five were het too. If you think about it, it's logical because there's far, far, far more het canon couples than gay canon couples.

Mine ...
1) Blue/Symphony [Captain Scarlet]
2) Abby/McGee [NCIS]
3) Margret/Frank [MASH]
4) Meredith/McDreamy [Greys Anatomy]
5) Zoe/Wash or Kaylee/Simon [Serenity]
And my reasoning why ...
1) My very first OTP ever, from when I was eight. So sentimentality, and a friend of mine writes them really well.
2) Just yeah that needs no explaining.
3) My only het pairing in the whole fandom. I don't 'like' either of them; but as a couple they are so dysfunctional and at times hilarious. So the writer in me finds them facinating.
4) They're so cool and messed up. Which is really great to watch. That's probably true of all the relationships in the show actually.
5) I couldn't decide ... Z/W is such a genuine solid relationship. K/S is just sweet; the scene where they declare their feelings always makes me laugh.

2. Indeed it doesn't :-)
3. Oh, yes. I know exactly what you mean.
4. Have you seen this week's ep? And I did consider having Burke/Christina as my fifth pairing, but in the end went for Willow/Tara.

3. I used to ship Hawkeye/Margaret when I first got into the fandom; but now I don't really see it.
4. Oh yes they are great! Christina is so antagonistic and funny, and Burke is the perfect foil for that.
George/Callie might end up being a fave of mine too; because I just adore George and he deserves to be happy. :)

3. I don't see it either. I know they did sleep together once, but that was very much situation based, I felt.
4. Indeed. They are great together. George certainly is cute.

1. Spike/Buffy (BtVS)
2. John Steed\Emma Peel (The Avengers)
3. Wolverine/Phoenix (Jean Grey) (X-Men)
4. Doctor (Nine)/Capt.Jack Harkness (NuWho)
5. Nick Cutter/Claudia Brown (Primeval)
The last one is difficult - there are lots of canonical romances in Primeval - Though I'm beginning to see a 'forbidden love' parallel...
