Infinity Together
Winter.
It had been his favourite season. Maybe it was fitting that that was when he’d died.
His still devastated lover stood in the deep snow looking up the pristine slopes of the hills, watching how they swallowed the sunset.
The cold seeped through him but he welcomed it.
In his hands, he held the urn containing his beloved’s ashes.
He began his slow climb up the hill, spoiling the pristine snow.
In the fading light of day, one set of footsteps went up.
In daylight, none returned.
They were at peace with one another. They had eternity, infinity together.
