This is incredibly painful. Probably because it rings awfully as the truth. War changes people, as it should. The things they both have lived through are too damaging, and to expect for them to be the same men they were before is more than naive.

And I got BJ's point, I really do, even as it doesn't sound really fair to Hawkeye. But maybe they can make it work. Maybe, sometimes, love is enough :)

I sure would love to see them trying *whistles* *innocent bambi eyes*

Sincere apologies for not replying to this sooner. However, LJ did not send me an email *Pokes LJ hard*

It was painful to write and as a write I have to admit I am of course chuffed that you did find it painful, because it meant it worked. Yes, it really does changed people and really the only ones who can fully understand are those who have lived through it.

I'm glad you got BJ's point. Indeed love is sometimes enough.

Ah, those bambi eyes. I'll see what happens and if a sequel wants to be written.

Thank you for your lovely comments and again I'm sorry for the delay in replying.

No problem, LJ sometimes is a bit hungry, and eats notifications. You can't blame it for it :P

I'd love to see what happens later, of course, but I know you can't force inspiration to happen. And I still have some stories to go through *g*

Hee. That's a good way of describing it. Well I know that really, but you know us Brits, we do apologise for stuff that isn't our fault *g*

I'm glad you know that. *Smiles* Enjoy. There will be another M*A*S*H in the next few days.

Once again you've showed just what an amazing writer you are! So many emotions in this piece, so much hurt, and yes, battle scars do not have to be physical, the emotional ones are sometimes even worse.

GREAT FIC, thank you!

I'm so glad you enjoyed your story so much and found so many emotions in it.

So many emotions, painful but necessary. War breaks everyone even years later. Wonderful story.

Thank you very much indeed for the praise.

War certainly does do that.
