I personally am rarely bothered with extras on DVDs, but I know that for some people they are essential and they feel cheated if there aren't any.

The NCIS Season One DVDs will have extras. And for once I just might indulge myself. It does appear, however, that the double JAG episode that launched NCIS won't be appearing on the DVDs as previously ( Read more... )

It's nice if you're a particular fan of a programme and the extras include interviews with your favourite actor or nice deleted scenes. Other than that, like you, I tend not to get all that excited about them. And really annoying is when they issue a second dvd nine months down the line with *more* extras and it's something you would like. Luckily it doesn't happen to me often but I think it's naughty of them to make money out of fans this way.

Bitterly cold today and we're off to the library! Brrr. How is it up there?

Well that's true enough, yes. Deleted scenes and/or bloopers can be fun. But I don't get the same buzz out of episode commentaries as a lot of people seem to get.

And I agree bringing out another one with extra extras is indeed just a way of making money.

It's not too cold today. I actually went outside and walked up and down the patio whilst J fed the birds and T raced about. But I was glad to get back in doors!

BTW, I uploaded ::coughs:: 20 new icons yesterday to fill up some of the 32 I had going 'spare' :-))

No, episode or film commentaries don't do anything for me either. In fact, I don't think I've ever listened to more than five minutes of one.

Glad to hear it's not too bad up there. The wind is cutting here, absolutely raw. Feels like snow but I don't think it's forecast.

LOL! We understand each other soooo well. ;-) I'm pleased with my extra 7 too. It meant I could nab 3 of the anminated GoF icons I saw this morning instead of just one. :-)

And what's more often if you watch the commentaries and you haven't seen the show before, you find out what's going to happen in future episodes! When we started rewatching Buffy, we decided to have a go at some of the commentaries, the ones that Joss does are really good, but we're glad that we didn't listen to them first time around, or we'd have had lots of stuff spoilt for us.

You stay inside in the warm then.

We understand each other soooo well. ;

We do indeed :-) Extra is always good. And they'll continue to trickle up, from time to time, which is nice.
