The first day of autumn

Sep 23, 2011 13:57

And a beautiful day it is here today.

It started very cold (enough to have a wee burst of heating) and wet and dull.

But now it's bright, sunny, blue skies and a really nice temperature. Not cold but not hot.

So many beautiful colours all around.

A couple of weeks ago, it was almost like Florida here -- Now half the trees have turned... This is all happening waaaaaay too fast.

I've heard quite a few people say the same thing one day it's hot the next it's really chilly.

Crazy weather.

I love Autumn (or as we call it in my part of the world - Fall).

The only downside? Winter follows.

Brrrrr

I find it strange that we use the same word for the other seasons, but not autumn/fall *g* Fall describes it really well of course with the leaves falling.

Yay for winter following autumn *Bounces* Yes, I'm weird *g*

Ugh! I wish it felt like fall here! It was feeling like fall until the last few days. Now on the first day of fall it's going to be 71. Ugh!!! I want my fall weather back!!

*Meep* That's warm.

Mind you today is pretty warm here. Not 70s, but warmer than this time of year usually is. According to the news this morning, it looks like the UK is going to have an Indian summer. I hate it when the seasons get crazy like that.

I'm often a little O.o when I read you've turned the heating on. I know you're a tad further north than us but I go to bed every night with my back door open to keep temp inside the flat comfortable! But then I come back to the folks' house like today & it's bloody cold inside the house so i can understand turning the heat on.

Turns out it's me living in the weird temps, not everyone else *g*

*Pets you*

Mind you there's no need for the heating today. In fact I've only just put a pully on after the sun has moved around.
