Hugh and RSL in a spaceship... I can only imagine the kind of bizarre cross-over that would require. ;)

I totally understand what you're saying. And don't worry, I promise they're going to work things out somehow, it's just a matter of getting there and dealing with other promises they've made.

Very glad you liked the hickey part. Hopefully it showed that the two had reached a point with one another where they wanted to "mark" and claim the other. The shower scene was one of my favorite parts of the whole fic to write. :)

I know dealing with heart break is a part of healing, but those flashbacks in the perspectus of what is going on are heartbreaking on their own. God. I love Lisa though. She's non-judgmental unlike a other certain friend of Hugh's. Great job. I've promised not to make any bribes, so this will be shorter. However I loved these two chapters no matter how painful they are to read. At least they talked. That's an improvement right?

Ah, Lisa E. She's so great, isn't she? Reading back on earlier installments of the series, I thought her characterization came across too firm, and she has such an ebullient and open personality, I really wanted to correct that in these last updates. Glad she works for you! And she really needs to be there for Hugh's light spot.

Yep, talking is definitely a step in the right direction. And they still have that dinner together with the rest of the cast, so some more talking should be right around the corner.

Thanks again for commenting, as always! :)

And I'm loving it. I thought that RPS would squick me out but you've done this so well and so much that it's a real pleasure to read.

Please let them be happy again?

RPS is always a writing risk; I've been very fortunate that this series has been well-received.

The two definitely have issues to confront before either of them get centered; but at least RSL is taking steps to get there. HL just has to work his way out of his shell. I can definitely promise that the ending will be satisfying but realistic.

Hugh felt a reminiscent buzz at the base of his spine.

Oh, I loved that line. It said so much.

I love the way you write Lisa E - she always strikes me as a fantastic person, and you definitely capture that.

Yay for Dylan! I can't even put into words how much I love Dylan. Excellent.

Thanks--especially for picking out specifics, it's always helpful to know what's working.

Lisa E is so much fun. She's so ebullient and open with a great sense of humor. And when I reread earlier installments to this series, I thought I characterized her far too firmly; that lightness wasn't getting through. So hopefully this continues to correct that error. Glad you think it fits!

Ah, Dylan. I have to admit, my sister is a much bigger fan than I am, and if it wasn't for her insistently blasting one of his Best Of CDs through the bedroom walls, I wouldn't know a heck of a lot other than his big hits. So I guess the increasing decibel level of my house is a good thing. I'm being educated. ;)

Love, love, love the flashbacks, and thank you so much for the guitar-playing! I am so happy that they're finally able to be friendly with each other - I don't know how they're managing it (it's gotta hurt), but I'm happy.

Very happy you liked the guitar playing! I wanted to get that in there somehow, to help forge a connection between them again, but I wasn't completely sure if it worked in this chapter. Glad you thought it did!

There will definitely be more talking right around the corner, too, so stay tuned!
