Oh, wow, this is beautiful. I think I forgot to breathe when I read this; it's the type of story that makes me want to put away my text editor and declare myself unworthy.

I keep coming back to the Little League game they watch, to the way it's a happy moment that still creates an ache in my chest. It's a tease, it's a cheat -- they're sharing something they can't, won't, and shouldn't have under the typical, traditional circumstances. It's lovely, and a feeling that lingers throughout the whole story.

Thank you for posting this. It's going directly into my bookmarks.

Absolutely lovely and heartbreaking, all the mixed up emotions, and then, Keith stopping anything before it can even begin.

I love them as friends, but it can be such a weird thing to do properly, and you've done them so well, so sweet and sad and, yes, them. It's really wonderful. Thank you. :)

Awws, your icon. I heart Rachel's alcohol skills. And her longing, as she's said here and then, to dress like a teenage boy although her job requires that she stuffs herself in a suit. XD
