Sen. Barack Obama just announced his run for the Presidency.

This was kind of a no-brainer, but still exciting. A politician I could believe in? I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high, b/c at this point disappointment is inevitable. He'll prolly be speaking on stage, bringing his message of hope to the American people, and then suddenly he'll eat a child at the podium. But since he's Sen. Obama, ( Read more... )

I'm actually Pro-Hillary. I think she will do a much better job, and honestly, Obama is a lot more conservative than he lets on. (I voted for him, yes in Illinois, but would not do so for the Presidency).
There are some shady things he has done in terms of educational funding, and against immigrant rights that I just cant get past.
BUT, having said that, with Hillary's experience and Obama's charisma, I think a Clinton/Obama ticket would be awesome (with he being the V-P) and its something I honestly see happening in the future.
Not my first choice for President, but he is a lot better than others (just not my girl Hillary though hehehe)

Part of the attraction for me is b/c of some of his more conservative stances -- I'm a political independant, liberal on a lot of issues, not so on others. I'm a registered Republican for the same reason my father is -- So I can weed out the bastids and at least hope I can influence the picking of the lesser of two evils, but I might register as a Democrat so I can pick Obama in the primaries.

I like the idea of a duel ticket except vice-versa, but I don't think Hillary's ego could handle it. Still, may the best candidate win!

I love libraries.

I don't talk about politics online anymore... :D

I got a bunch of books from a library today!

::evil singsong:: Are you sure you don't want to talk about politics? ::/evil singsong::

What books? I just whipped through the first two books of the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, they're like supernatural candy! Sweet, sweet supernatural candy!

I was going to get some more Terry Pratchett books, but decided this time I'll concentrate on Terry Brooks - so I got the original 3 Shannara Books. I read some of those a long long time ago, but wasn't quite old enough to understand, so yeah.

Occasionally I'll talk about politics, but it's usually just not worth it.

I've heard of Terry Brooks, what are his books like? Heavy? Light? Hijinx or serious?

I don't know if a cadidate eating a live child in public during a political speech would sway my vote either way...
Ha, just kidding.

It would sure sway mine! One way to bring about smaller gov't is to send in an official who eats human flesh! Hooray!
