They did have a in dedication to Heath (and to someone else who died too) at the end, thankfully. Maybe with everyone standing up to leave and all of that you didn't get to see it. :\

I'm with you; I think Ennis was a far gutsier and important role that really redefined who he was as an actor. I'll remember him for that more than I will for the Joker. I do think, though, that the reports of how much the Joker affected him have been grossly exaggerated by the press. It's really all too easy to blame method acting as some sort of demon in this but there had to be something there already - Christian Bale method acts everything and he hasn't lost it yet (and he's played characters far darker than the Joker). I'd fathom a guess that the end of Heath's marriage, preceding the Batman shoot, had a far greater impact on his mental state than getting into the Joker's shoes. Not to minimize the emotional impact of method acting, but it's not just the role that killed him.

Oh good, that makes me feel better. I was specifically watching for it, and the first thing I saw was the producer's name, and then other technical credits, and I figured if they were going to do a dedication as important as that they'd have done it first, so I didn't wait. Was it later in the credits?

I don't give a lot of credence to the press in situations like that, because I know that so much of it is hype. I'm thinking about the haunting foreshadowing set by Heath's own words before the tragedy. But I'm sure that his breakup with Michelle had at least as much, if not more to do with it. Imagine going through one grueling stress, only to already (I assume) have the obligation to go through another harrowing experience (though I daresay that playing the Joker was a lot of fun a lot of the time) just afterward. (Btw, do you know the chronology there? Did he and ( ... )

I saw that a while ago and it made me smile from ear to ear. You're perfect for this crowd. I don't use this journal much, and I don't want anyone to think that differing opinions aren't welcome. I had to do it when my flist was fighting like little six-year-olds, back during Lost's Dark Days (the middle season(s), I guess). I keep it now for rants that might offend the easily-offended or immature, just for self-protection because I'm kind of a wimp about non-constructive criticism and stupid reactionary arguments, both of which I know I won't get from you. So here's a belated welcome, and I have a feeling you're gonna *really* see some ranting that might boil your brain in a day or two. Just sayin'. ;)
