Awesome! Though I don't currently know how to do pleats - but I bet the internet can tell me! or, of course, there's the option of not having pleats, I guess? And cutting on the bias? I'm not entirely sure yet on that one.

I do love this dress! I want to make one like whoa! I have a lot of fabric sitting around, so post Dragon*Con there may be one in the works. Pre-D*Con, it's costumes all the way down!

Box pleats are pretty easy, and this is a good dress to learn them on, because you only need four of them. Of course, you can put whatever skirt you'd like under the bodice to get a cute high-waisted skirt! (but, a box pleat tutorial is here: http://www.burdastyle.com/techniques/make-box-and-inverted-box-pleats)

There will definitely be more sewing once the cosplay crunch is over with!

THIS IS AMAZING! When you say .5 of an inch you mean 1/2 inch?

Yep. Half an inch. I know the standard is 5/8, but I'm lazy with maths :)

Not lazy at all! I just wanted to double check so I don't eff it up! :P

I used this tutorial and made the most EPIC effing dress ever! Thank you SO much for the great instructions and help! I never could have done it without you! (Tell Nicky to show you pictures)

My 'client' I made the dress for is a giddy retard over it. It is for a wedding and she was so worried she'd have the lamest dress. Now I bet the bride will be scrambling. This is RAD.
