First snow

I had to visit the martial arts shop again today because I heard yesterday on my regular taiji lesson that the sword I bought is of the wrong kind. The new one looks like these swords. I think the first one I bought was cooler. Meh. Oh well, apparently you need a sword like that to perform the moves ( Read more... )

Ooh, Jians! Nice stuff. Those are considered the hardest to master I believe of all the Japanese swords, also known as....hm...something or other. I forget! Anyway, weird stuff. The other sword you bought is a bokken, which is basically just japanese for (duh) "wooden sword".

Oor something. I don't know! I just felt like going "FACTZOID!" Also, my facts might be wrong!

yay, swordfighting!

All of my friends have been using bokken swords (why I know about them) in their martial arts hobbies... a little disappointing that I'm not getting one. :( But then again, it's always cool to be different. :P

Wah. I'm so indecisive about Friday. Should I go do sword stuff or should I go drinking with workmates (who are going to start immediately at the end of workday)? Or maybe drinking after the sword thingy? Hmm...

*blinks* You get the play with a sword in the park?? How cool is that! And are you saying there IS a martial arts shop here somewhere??!!!

We never had slush here, just horrid rain and wind, and now the ground looks like someone had sprinkled sugar on it. It just swirls around and hides the icy sidewalk (LETHAL, that's what it is!! I've been watching all evening people falling on their bums the minute they set their foot of the bus!)

Yes, I guess we can do it in a park too, perhaps next summer. :D Very cool! And yes, there is at least one shop like that on Hämeenkatu, between Hakaniemi and Sörnäinen (closer to Hakaniemi). The exact address was Hämeentie 7. There used to be another one almost opposite it across the street, but I'm not sure if it's there anymore.

I've managed not to fall down yet... have been walking very carefully. :)
