ETA 2: It's now 4am. ...I should've just quit after the first update installed. (I can't leave the computer on to finish on its own while I sleep because it'll crash thus messing up any updates. :/ )
I am posting for the sheer reason I have nothing else to do while the darn computer is trying to fix itself. (actually, I have Joan D. Vinge's The Snow Queen, which I'm finally trying to finish...)
The new teaser for trailer for AGoT doesn't leave me particularly impressed. I do like the behind the scenes trailer better, and the production blog makes me full of even more hope that this will be one epic HBO series. (although, samurai armor for the Lannisters? What's the reasoning behind that?)
Finished Radiant Shadows by Melissa Marr, Wicked Lovely #4. First of all, I forgot to mention in my blathering about Fragile Eternity that I pretty much missed A LOT of the subtext in Ink Exchange. Yeah, the Niall/Irial UST? Totally missed it. The backstory between them? I knew something was up but the bulk of it also passed me by. Ash's involvement/neglect (?!) in Ink Exchange? MISSED THAT TOO. D: This might explain why I didn't like Ink Exchange much; I totally missed a good chunk of the plot. (I'd always wondered what was so great about it; all the bloggers I followed raved about it. Might have to give it another read? Until then, I'm still saying Ink Exchange was the weakest of all the books) Fragile Eternity had me convinced I definitely missed stuff. And then Radiant Shadows kinda cleared a lot of the fog up for me; although really, I'm still hung up over how much I missed in Ink Exchange. I will admit, I squee'd over the Niall/Irial UST/resolution in it. I really hope Marr will do something involving Niall/Irial/Leslie as a fully functional threesome, because, well, that's something I'd really like to see in writing. And no, I don't want to see it sex.
Also, the book trailer for Fragile Eternity sucks. So I don't watch book trailers, but it was so bad I thought it had to be porn.
The Rae/Devlin/Ani took me by surprise. Devlin was so... 2D in Fragile Eternity, that his characterization came as a surprise. The Rae/Devlin also took me by surprise. And bing-bing, here's another threesome I'd like to see. (I should make it a point to find some fic with multi/poly/whatever the term is relationships, because those dynamics are really starting to interest me. This notion of there is no such thing as One True Love) I'm ambivalent about Sorcha's weepy emotions. However, something definitely doesn't work with me with the New Dark Court. Something about the 'new'. Ani having wolves could've been dealt with more I think. Faerie and Mortal World being totally sealed is interesting. I guess a new court has to spring up in the Mortal world to balance the dark court. Also, Irial better not die. I might not've fangirl'd over him as the bloggers did in Ink Exchange, but he won me over in this one.
The Broken Kingdoms by NK Jemisin is coming out soon too (Inheritance Trilogy #2). The first book, The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms got a lot of hype. My wondering how Jemisin was going to narrate Yeine has been resolved! Yeine is not our narrator for book 2! I will most definitely be reading book 2; I was won over by the
sample chapter where the Dude keeps accidentally killing himself. I totally laughed in RL at that (ok, that sounds morbid; but it's rather funny in the chapter). I also see repetition in the "I am a woman plagued with gods." Similar narration to book 1 as well, with that the narrator is in the present narrating her past and meanders at times. The narrator does sound a bit similar to Yeine. :/ But I have faith! (also, I'm pretty sure who Random God Dude is, because, how many exiled gods can there be? XD)
Despite taking note of all those rec'd animes, I went off and started watching Utena. yeah, sorry about that. (I gave in, I'd been eying the anime for a long time, having read the manga and seen that Super Trippy Movie) The super out-there of it appeals to me. (and the inversion/playing with of fairy tales) I'm on ep4 now.
And jkadjepioerjals;fj;d;l computer!!! (I finally got it back from my dad; he fixed the keyboard, hooray!) I've never understood why people bad-mouthed Vista, but now I do. asdjdjlffao##$$$. It won't load the Service Pack 2 and I'm trying what the support says to do, but it's unclear whether the 15+ wait is for the installation or the following step. (I could've gone to bed early if it wasn't for this!!!!)

Dearly Beloved, Yoko Shimomura. Not so much it makes me sleepy, but it calms me down and I listen to it if I'm having trouble sleeping because my mind's on overdrive. And it's on my yoga/soothing music mix. :)
