So I'm back again with the same request.  Anyone interested in beta-reading an X-Men: First Class fic?  Pairing is Emma/Angel and Angel/Raven, and since its for xmen_tales, the fairy tale is The Little Mermaid.  And even though it's a modern, powered AU, the end pairing is essentially Sea Witch/Mermaid.

I've read 'A Handmaid's Tale' before and It is kind of slow in the beginning though I did enjoy the imagery as they convey a somewhat overt sense of danger. It's been quite a long time since I've read it so I could be remembering wrong.

Yeah, I found it more interesting towards the middle and ended up liking the book, but my feelings were somewhat diminished because of the cliff hanger endings. I detest them. Though I doubt highly that she got out unscathed, I have a feeling she was tortured or perhaps thrown to wherever the other women live that is supposedly very bad.

I actually thought for a few moments that the note at the end was real. I wanted to know more about the state of Gilead and what happened to it.

Oooh, go you for reading these classics. I was pretty ok with the cliffhanger ending; a lot of literature that gets well-known/enters the canon has them.
