I think you might be interested in Michiko e Hatchin too, if you can get your hands on it. Didn't you watch Thelma & Louise recently? (Or were planning to?) This is somewhat similar (lawless roadtrip with strong cast of women), but in a setting that I think is based on 1980s-ish Brazil, with a cast that is entirely PoC/mixed.

I had mixed feelings about some of the overly repetitive narrative choices in the second half, but it's a pretty strong series nevertheless (and perhaps worth watching if only for Michiko and Atsuko).

I actually hated Thelma and Louise, mostly because I immensely disliked Thelma, but the premise I enjoy.
