Yeah, McCain has, in case anyone was still confused, once again shown that, regardless of the state he represents, he is a creature of Washington. Number of houses? Price of Milk? How the great unwashed live? Not his bag, baby.
I wouldn't necessarily recommend, however, that Obama go down a road related to real estate. That's not exactly a position of strength for him. (The smarter McCain retort? "He doesn't know how many houses he owns but Tony Rezko never sold him one for below market value.")
Yeah, that negative ad is kinda snarky for my taste too. I mean, I like hitting back when it's called for, but I prefer the "let's take a good look at the facts, oh gee, I appear to have pinioned your ass with a chain of reasoning" school of negative. :-)
But arugula? Really? Snicker.
It's very sad and very telling that McCain can't seem to hit that many other notes besides the POW one. Defining experience for his life? Yes, I'm sure. Good basis for an entire presidential campaign and the main ingredient in every retort? Not so much.
McCain's Olympic spam has made me want to punch a wall. I'm expecting him to chase after Michael Phelps next, trying to get him to speak at the Republican National Convention -- to which, I'm sure, Phelps will say a very enthusiastic "Piss off!"
