Could it be true??

Romance is over - Riquelme is no longer a part of the National Team (Sorry the link is in Spanish, I couldn't find one in English.)

*excuse me while I squee like mad XD*

According to Riquelme, he and Maradona "don't speak the same language" and can't work together. Maradona said a few days ago that he needed Riquelme in a ( Read more... )

I never considered Riquelme as superb, really... he was never one of my favourites, really. He might be good for Boca, but I just can't stand him in the national team. He slows everything down and makes everything more predictable. :-/

I WOULDN'T BE SO SURE. XDDD

A mí nunca me gustó.

What I thought when I read that was:

1. They sound like a married couple having their first major argument.

2. Riquelme has never been easy to work with, and neither has Maradona. Wouldn't surprise me if they were genetically incompatible, always eager to find something in the other's words that they can misunderstand and be offended about.

3. The Argentine NT has done well (or even better!) without Riquelme in the past. He's replaceable.

4. This would be the second time Riquelme left the NT. Will he really stay away for good this time?

Hmmmmm. :D

Yes, please! It's not like he can say no to the NT whenever he feels like throwing a tantrum because something isn't of his liking. Word says that the rest of the team doesn't want him in it, and I don't blame them.

I hope they do well in the next matches, otherwise it's gonna be hell, and everyone will be saying "Oh, this wouldn't have happened with Riquelme in the field". *gags*

I just don't like him, can you see it? XDD
