Nabari French Release

Jan 23, 2009 21:21

Just stumbled across them and they made me O_O

Vol 1, Vol 2. Or here here at the publisher's page.

MAY I say, that what they did to the covers is horrible?
And it seems that there are no colour pages. And then they are rather expensive....

On the other hand the release dates are really fast. Vol 1-2 come out in about a week and then it goes 2-monthly.

...why would they do that. and what happened to the 'no ou'?

and those are actually pretty cheap, ignoring the shipping and handling.

Naa, the title is still the smallest problem. (In the Anime they only used the Nabari part of the title in the romajis if I remember correctly).

And no, I don't think it's any bit cheap at all. There are other Mangas/Manwahs (Like Platina or Little Queen I bought) which are all below 7€. (or around 6,60).
The most common price in Germany is also 6,50. (AND many of those have colour pages or miny poster. Through not all.)

But I agree in the other meaning of cheap. They are CHEAPLY made.
Really. How could they pick this horrible fonts? the japanese Kanjis looked a bit into the direction of calligraphy, but this is just horrible.

...

Oh, I went into my rant mode again, so I better stop...

That reminds me. French volumes have dust jackets. If I were to get them I could still put the Japanese jackets over them. :\

well, the average price in America is $10, which is about what the French Nabari costs.

l-lol the font is ugly. 8U I don't really care about covers though.

OH BUT BUT
the cover is an important part of the book you know !!
The illustration and all, it's something that appeal the consumer and make them want to see more :D

I don't think you would open a book you don't know if the cover is ugly :/

Just 'Nabari.' Interesting... xD; And yeah, odd font choice there.

fff I'm going to be in France in a few days. XD I might have to hunt these down at some point (it would give me a geeky way of practicing my French haha). The title font is a bit too... scribbly, even for my taste, but it doesn't really bother me that much.

I'm french and, HAHAHAHAHAH IM DIIIIYIIIIING
HAHAHAhahaaha

Seriously, I'm going to hate Asuka more and more...

And yes, most, no, all their release are stupidly expensive, but the books are made in good quality... But I have to agree with you, the cover, and THIS FONT is horrible...

I think i'll buy them anyway, it's good to see a good manga serialized in France

Oh~
Mind to post a review of it? (Like taking a foto of one page or so?) I want to know how it looks like before I jump to the decision if I buy the french version, too.
I'm crazy enough to have three versions of Little Queen already anyway. Oo"""

I don't know much about Asuka. Only own some of Saphira. They were fine, even through I miss colour pages dearly. But a Germany release seems to be in to sight of Platina. ~_~

"it's good to see a good manga serialized in France"
Don't you have quite a choice over there already? At least you don't have that stupid Ribbon-Manga/Smut Tendency like here....

Yup, yup, it's true that we have good series in France, and this year we have a lot of new comers :D Even in the anime, and even yaoi part... So we can't complain about it ^^

For the color pages, hm, as far as I remember, i've never seen color pages in those books, oh, maybe in MPD Psycho... but for shônen manga, like bleach, naruto, fairy tail, reborn, or other, they didn't have them

And yes, I'll post a review ;)

But wow, 3different version ? :|
I know that sometimes I buy the japanese version and then in french when it's released, but never thought of buying the spanish version or english(as I'm half spanish..)

Now that you mention Yaoi.
-_-
Germany is a big fan of Shounen Ai. REALLY BIG FAN. About 50%-70% of 2 of our three major publishers' annual releases are Shounen Ai. ~_~"""" (The Tokyopop Germany releases about 30%?) I have noticed that I won't go to much to the bookstore anymore. And I don't buy any much German Manga anymore too. For most time I spend my time rather before yesasia. XD.

Colour Pages are a nice thing. Germany likes them~
Pitaten had all colour pages from the original, and Tokyopop always does these "First Press has colour Pages" releases.
But one of the major publishers has kicked out all colour pages. >_< And the other publisher said they raise the prices. (That's ok, through) and the two other smaller publishers never had some ( ... )
