Raikou happened to be walking by, humming happily to himself, when he saw the cat on the wall.
"Well, aren't you pretty?" Raikou quipped, smile still on his face, "It's a nice day for some sun, isn't it?" He spoke as if a cat could really understand him, but Raikou talked to everyone and everything, regardless of their species.
Shiratama flicks her tail to the side, unblinking eyes turning to Raikou. If cats could grin like the fictional Cheshire, Shiratama would grin, too. "Meow," she responded, unmoving from her spot.
"Oh? It's almost like you understand," Raikou said in a curious tone, reaching out to stroke under the cat's chin with one finger. "And what's your name?" His eyes wandered down to the collar around the cat's neck.
Ah-- the petting. Shiratama closed her eyes and purred, not bothering to respond to the questions. She liked it when they scratched under her chin or behind her ears or they rubbed her tummy. It was always a good feeling.
Yukimi caught the cat's eye as he passed, and stopped. "..." Was it lost? Where was its owner? Why was it staring at him like that? It was kind of cute, but the staring...
Well obviously, the solution was to stare right back.
