Damn, Naatz, you're making me lurve Canada all the more?

"Because reality is never what we want it to be, or what we fear it is. It's always between the two, and often it proves more damaging than either option."

That is so SO Kiota-like. And you would know that better than anybody.

All your options make me think of what happens to American movie stars before they're "discovered". Before they become the property of the media and the agent publicity machines and are used as pawns for others to make all the USD they can make from them and are macerated and masticated and then are thrown away. Before a public image is created for them that they are expected to live up to, or else.

Well, at that time they are mostly just regular ordinary people. With some talent? Maybe, maybe not. What matters is if they can be packaged and sold without too much preparatory cost.

*facepalm* to the max ...

Wasn't there another soldier captured too?

Actually it's completely different; if you take a minute to think about the difference between newfound talents and kidnapped soldiers, you'll understand why.

Wasn't there another soldier captured too?

There are actually two more, but they're not 'related' to this incident. These two were taken to Lebanon, while Gil'ad Shalit was taken to the Gaza strip.

That is so SO Kiota-like. And you would know that better than anybody.

That's me, really, because it's the truth.

Actually, talking about truth, here in the US we really have no clue about what REALLY goes on in Israel from the media. "Israel" is talked about as a monolith, a whole culture of spartan-like warriors in white hats battling the whole Islamic world wearing black. So it is startling to me to find out how many Israelis actually think their government is dangerous to your country instead of being supportive of it. I've even met some way up here ( ... )
