Two things:

1) Losing writing is a horrible, horrible thing to happen and I feel so bad for you! Silly question as I'm sure you've checked, but do any of the "recent changes" help you to recover any of it?

2) David Gray is always the best thing to listen to. Always. Just go for something lighter, like the older stuff. You can never beat a bit of Debauchery!

1) I tried to recover it both with OpenOffice and MSWord, because it was just fine moments before while perusing it with my Google Docs app on my iPhone. That's why I'm absolutely stumped why I can't recover it, and it annoys me.

But thank the gods, I still have most of what I've written down in my head! :-) Maybe should start saving it on the external HD as well just to make sure I always have a rather recent copy somewhere...

2) Blues Brothers always do the trick! *hehe*

And I might add some Mumford & Sons (I've seen them live about 6 years ago, and they ARE absolutely great!) and Nathaniel Rateliff (his "Need Never Get Old" always puts me straight into writing mode), or just some good old rock, soul stuff. My playlist is huge. ;-)
