Oh, oh, ouch! I've always thought cooking a risky undertaking! Hope the icing fixes it. Photos can wait, curiosity will keep.

The same hand as yesterday, but in colour! I erased the graphite pencil shading and most of the lines gradually as I added the colour, doing the background first for a change and to get the outline. I think I'm happiest with the blue shadows seeming to work. The highlights of completely white sunlight were the hardest to attempt.

Yes, the shadowing on the hand is very nice, especially the thumb. The texture of the skin is very good, too!

Thank you! I may not attempt another hand for a while and enjoy this one for a bit longer. I do see things that need changing for next time, but I don't want to tackle them just yet.

These are simple ones, retro pictures given a gradient or two and some equally simple text... (the third one and easily the cleverest text is a quote attributed to the wonderful Ambrose Bierce :)

You have done a superb job of matching the expressions to the quotes! The look of blank innocence on the face of the last one! Oh, my! And yes, the quote about the book covers is brilliant - the look of a student checking out the first on a long list of course reading perhaps.

Thank you! The expressions just 'spoke' to me... :)

My favorite is the first one. She looks so nervously chagrined...

I have not been doing much art these past days. I am still painting my room, and I would have been finished, but life gave me a twist (good one though, no worries). I have not had as much free time as I was supposed to have. Now both my bedroom (since everything is placed differently so I can paint), and living room with my hobby-corner (because many of my bedroom things are now here) are a mess. I have not had much time nor the inclination to be creative.

I am sure all these activities are more than creative!!!

Today I am busy with a lot of errands, so I started playing with the filters again and got an idea...in my story, Driscoll, the artist, is supposed to have made portraits of all his fellow emanations, a series entitled, "Self-Portraits Not of Me." I wouldn't even dare to attempt drawing those - he's supposed to be a good artist! But since all the emanations begin life in a different universe as patterns of energy, I'm having him do another series, "Self Portraits Not of Me II: Baby Pictures." So these are his rather stylized conceptions of what some of his fellows looked like in their original forms...

Oliver Demasline (I've been doing a lot of art for Oliver, which is surprising since he's only a minor character. Maybe he wants more attention?):

These are all gorgeous! I think I like the first one best, though. The 3-D *pop* effect is really pronounced in it.
