I HATE that...polgara_3000November 6 2004, 08:25:52 UTC
I hate it when characters run away from you, going in the complete opposite direction of what you had anticipated. But sometimes, the best of writing comes out that way.
Another similar problem is when you lose track of your intended plot, and then the story just kind of goes in whichever direction it chooses and you have ABSOLUTELY no idea where it's going to end up.
THe best stories consist of character driven interaction. Plot is secondary if your characters are interesting, insane, funny, and/or dynamic. I say \/\/oot!
Also: You seem to be the most eloquent zombie I've even read. :) Good luck!
i still can not fathom how anyone can write a novel. maybe i just don't know how to get my brain to work in that manner. but then again, i can paint a 3'x4' painting in about 25 hours. so i suppose it is all relative
( ... )
no problem babe! i'm just glad you don't mind me doing it!! i promise to show you the results! (whenever i have them, lol, i've got like 10 other projects i'm doing right now, so erm, yeah...)
Squee! I'm about thirteen K in, and got twelve pages done this morning and another four tonight. I do it by pages, as I did when I wrote Vita Labyrinthae--12 pages is about 5000 words, give or take a couple hundred, and it's easier for me to do it in 12 page chapters than by words. These damn vampires and their friends don't seem to want to quit.

THAT can be the most fun, though.

I checked into it. Apparently I DO own the copyright to that one. It WAS one of the ones I took, I just forgot!
So, yeah. Play with it!

I work in about 5-page spurts, but I come back to it several times a day. I average about 3,000 words.
I have gotten virtually nothing done today. But I was not expecting to, so that's okay.
And, hey, while the undead muse has you by the neck, I say go for it.

Does it sleep all curled up on his chest and make little starfish-paws in his tasteful-yet-melancholy clothing?
