Non-newtonian fluids.

So, how the whole thing went today. In detail, because, again, I am documenting the shit out of everything from here on out so it will help me later, or help others now ( Read more... )

I cant even begin to imagine how hard that must have been for you, but big big congratulations for getting your point across and I'm so glad the Dr was helpful.

I hope the rest of the experience goes the same way.

*hugs* if allowed from an internet stranger, who by the way thinks you are awesome.

Ironically, "Wicked Girls" was on my music player when I was reading this. (I also love the song and I want someday to get a quote from it tattooed, yknow, whenever I can isolate a nice tattoo-sized bit of language vs. the entire fucking lyrics).

You, my dear, are brilliant. I would never have thought of using that analogy. It is amazing and jaw-droppingly accurate and made of complete and utter awesome.

I am so proud of you for standing up and doing this. I'm not sure if I could have, and I do not have words for how impressed and proud and stuffs that you took that stand.

If I don't get just "Wicked Girls Saving Ourselves", I'd get "Our roads may be golden or broken or lost/but we walk on them willingly, knowing the cost."

The ones I'm thinking of most are probably "You have to break rules if you want to break free". Or "And one queen said 'I am not a toy', and she never returned." Or "Be wicked and lovely and don't live in fear"... you see my dilemma! ^_^

That whole song is just tattoo-worthy, frankly. I should just have a sound chip embedded in my sternum.

Okay, that's kind of gross, but it's that awesome a song.

You are kind of amazing. For you to have been in such a bad headspace but still manage to achieve what you want, through an incredibly coherent metaphor, is just brilliant. I'm so glad that despite the stress of anticipation, and the horrors of waiting, that were some positives to take away from your visit :)

{{{{{HUGS}}}}} I'm proud of you for going in there like that. :) Talking back to a medical professional like that seems an insurmountable feat the first time you do it. Hell, I still have trouble going to a doctor and saying that something new is wrong, because I'm so very aware how thick my file is, and how nebulous most of my conditions are by definition. (I'm definitely one of very few people who, after a few days, feel better for being told, "There's something wrong with your brain," than they would be for being told, "Everything looks fine.")

Amazing, isn't it, how easily medical professionals can overlook pain and illness until they're forced to see what's going on?

You get my deadly lion-headed seraphim icon for this, because you're fucking amazing and hardcore. Even if that core is made of non-Newtonian fluids.

Also, seriously, you could not have pulled a better metaphor out of your ass if you'd tried. I have no doubt that this worked a hell of a lot better than any script, and I am SO INCREDIBLY GLAD that she was (a) willing to see you and not prioritize the other person over you, since it was her scheduler's mistake, and (b) that you GOT THAT WORDING CHANGED.

Seriously, not only is that difficult as hell to do, but you carried it off amazingly well.

It is not stupid to feel as if this is a significant triumph. It really, truly is.

**cushy Andi-hugs**

Sleep well, hon, like the rockstar that you are :)
