About three years ago I started a silly little subscription site about costuming. I was doing it point-by-point with the handbook in one hand; it was held together with string. I thought it might be fun.

Three years later we have 400 members, a business award and a second site. I get to fart about in costume with my friends do trade fairs both here and abroad. And I get to do all this from a study in my house, at hours of my choice. I cannot tell you how fucking awesome it feels to be able to do that. For a person who does not play well with others, and who is certainly not able to switch it on at 9 and turn it off at 5, I think I just won at life.

You have a lot more business savvy than I do/we do, but I have hopes we can make this work.

Not really, you just make it up as you go along, you keep tweaking until it looks like you know what you're doing. You'll see :)

I for one cannot WAIT until this is in a POD format, so I can 1) buy a copy for myself and 2) buy a copy for my man. He doesn't do LJ at all, but I know he'd love the twins. SO MUCH. If I thought he'd remember to log into an LJ account I'd make him one and set up up with a porn subscription to fever_dreams. But alas, I don't think he would. His "OOOOOH SHINY" button gets hit far too many times in a day.

Also, I'm another one of those people who is far more successful working out of the bedroom than an office.
