YES. This is why I hate that book "The Secret" with a burning passion. Tell a ragpicker in Bangalore trying to feed her starving kids that she only needs to think more positively. Or someone whose loved one is dying because they can't afford meds. Or someone whose village just got overrun by a violent militia. Or someone who just miscarried a wanted baby for the 4th time. Etc. It's such a privileged, 1st world Puritan POV.
Hon , I couldn't say how it's good for me to read the thoughts I have since such a long time and that put together in such an efficient and brilliant way

Well yes , I guess it could be a good idea to keep in mind that things are not better for us anyway if other people suffer and not us :what a beautiful demonstration of the perfect selfishness it would be to wish such a thing *snort*
Most of the New Age type stuff (E.G.: "The Secret"... eugh...) I encounter[1] is (A) coming right out of white, middle-class, formerly-christian (and often, though not always, wealthy) privilege and (B) is totally uninterested in actually examining that privilege when it/they could, instead, be telling all those oppressed people that if they just harnessed the power of possitive thinking (or whatever) they, too, could have the house, the car, and the crystal-healing-set of their dreams.
As you may have guessed, this pisses me off. :-P

[1] With the, so far, ONE exception of my girlfriend who, basically, says: "Oh, a soul definitely chooses which lives zi lives on earth (and elsewhere), but zi choose them the way one choose courses for university: 'One of the three following courses is required for your degree. These are your options, choose one'. It's all about learning things that you need to learn[2] and has nothing to do with whether or not you'll *enjoy* it

Thank you for that. Gonna show this to a friend of mine who just *doesn't* get it sometimes. I'm so tired of being told that I should go make my own luck that I'm starting sharpen my claws.

And, might I add, fuck yeah. >:-P
Heh. I actually read that as "privileged, worst world Puritan POV". (Not sure how I got that one).

This line made me laugh hard and I'm going to tell it to a friend who I think could use some of this kind of perspective right now.
