Damn. I've never read any of his work, and now it's really unlikely that I will. I find myself saddened, on behalf of some Johnnies I know, that St. John's managed to turn out someone who could hold such mind-boggling views. Also, way back in the mists of time, I used to date someone who used to date his wife, and I'd gathered a positive impression of her through that; I'm sorry she's got to be married to someone like that.

I go to his blog while I'm at work whenever Miss Depression and Self-Loathing wants some self-flagellation. I don't know how he is as a writer, and he seems like a pleasant sort of intelligent fellow. Yet I find his opinions deplorable. It's a venomous combination for me.

I won't be duped into quoting him, as that's picking up the mess instead of avoiding stepping in it. And were he expressing "opinion" I'd be sad for a lost,potentially re-educable person wasting their potential as he seems bent on doing. That's MY opinion. He however, is stating naked hatreds as "fact."

Yes, it seems as though many of his facts border on conspiracy, and sometimes cross that border. Then he talks about writing and about his wife, and it's like he's a different person than the vitriolic Pharisee that he seems to be at other times. It's mind-boggling.

Well, I only made it to the cutesy little term "homosex" before the red haze of rage made it impossible for me to go on. Then I skipped down to the comments in the hopes that somebody, oh dear God somebody might have a more reasonable viewpoint, and made it to the one where someone was referred to as "gae" and had to close the window before I combusted.
