"Driving Like a Bat Cheva Out of Hell"

Shortly after leaving for Oklahoma City and the Nightwish concert with more than an hour to spare, we discovered that the turnpike was backed up for six miles, with no way to get off the goddamn thing. And when I say backed up, I mean that we were creeping along at about three miles an hour for most of it. It briefly opened up halfway through, ( Read more... )

Glad you had such a good time ! Wish I Had an Angel is one of my faves, it's warbled on a regular basis. I'm terribly jealous, i keep hoping they'll do a venue that i can actually get to , here in France. Fat chance but one can hope.

I thought the same when I saw Anette. Her voice isn't bad, but she's much better in studio than she is live. They're still well worth seeing, but Within Temptation was much better. (If you get to see them -- DO. They're better in concert than the Cruxshadows, and that takes some doing.)

I still feel cheated that the sound was so fucked up when we saw Kamelot. Literally, we could not hear Khan at all. :( I still haven't figured out why the opening act was fine, but not them. I'm keeping an eye en their schedule, hopefully they will come out in this area... and since we're in a different part of the country now, it'll be an entirely different venue.

I scream at concerts. A lot. I usually walk out feeling like I just deep throated a horse, but it's so worth it. XD

Wait...the opening act was a Southern Rock band, from Denmark, named after a Poke'mon? Way to get their nerd on.

Glad you had a good time, despite stupidheads on the highway.

I've been living under a rock and only recently rediscovered Nightwish. Mmm, opera metal. And following that, I discovered there's such a thing as folk metal! Speaking of which, have a clickylink: Eluveitie - Inis Mona

I've been listening to that song on repeat on and off for the past two weeks. And hey, if you end up not liking the music, I didn't totally waste your four minutes. You get to see someone headbanging while playing the hurdy gurdy!

Oh gods I should not be allowed on the internet when I am loopy from bloodloss and no sleep, I can't tell if I'm silly or just plain weird.

Eluveitie is made of win. Have you listened to Druid? I also really like Oro and Your Gaulish War. They're pretty damned awesome :D

Eluveite are lame. You want folk metal go for Suidakra, Skyforger, Promordial, or the godlike Moonsorrow.

Oooh, thanks for the recommendations, I'm always looking for new music!

I like Eleveitie, but I'm aware I have terrible taste. I could try to blame it on being raised in Alabama, but really all that did was give me a drawl.

She does okay on the older stuff but there is a lot of stuff they can't do because she doesn't have the range. And I think it was a mistake to take someone who can't handle that. I like Anette, I do, but I just don't see hiring someone who can't handle your whole back catalog,
