"Only men are capable of aesthetic greatness."

You know, my opinion of modern "fine art" aside, this is an interesting article. It discusses the disparity in price between men's art and women's art. The most telling quote is this one, from a first-rate sexist pigfucker named Brian Sewell who is, predictably, both male and not an artist. Just a critic. And a cack-brained one, too.

"The art ( Read more... )

Maybe someone should point him to http://community.livejournal.com/all_macros/596072.html#cutid1 to show exactly what -everyone-, including Jesus, thinks of him.

Or feed him to http://community.livejournal.com/splodefromcute/927849.html instead.

I don't know which burns my brain more, the Stupid, or the Sexist.

I think Artemisia Gentileschi would like to have some words with you, Mr. Sewell.

How about Mary Cassett, or Frida? Or how about Disney's Mary Blair?

Hey Mr. Sewell.... Head. Out of ass. Thanks.

And Georgia O'Keefe? Hildegarde of Bingen? Dorothea Lange (photography IS an art form)?

I would love to see Mr. Sewage, er, Sewell, go to an exhibition of works by unknown artists of both genders, with no names attached to the works. And have him critique them. And then see how the gender thing shakes out. I bet the the skunk fucking SOB would be rather startled, assuming he could see the art with his head that far up his ass.

And I can't believe Georgia O'Keefe's work doesn't sell for as much as that of male artists of the same era.

Pursuant to your icon's appropriateness in describing Mr. Sewell, I humbly submit that he is practicing the ancient art of ignorami, the careful folding of one's head in order to better fit it into one's anus.

"males really REALLY don't see how much misogyny is in our world."

I'm sure some of us do, but we don't care.

How the Great Ghu allowed something like this obscene waste of flesh we're gobsmacked by to freaking be born at all? I read the article. Wanted to puke. Regretted Mr Sewell was not near enough to puke upon. I can now say that old T-shirt logos of "God don't make no junk" has been obsoleted. Or is junk too good a term to debase by ANY connection to this ... /me sputters- Damn. Mayhaps it'd be Karma to forcibly SrS this guy? Or better still Mr Sewer gets consigned to The Critic's Lounge designed by Robert Heinlein.
