Weird.

I hate getting sick more because it demoralizes me than anything else.

Something about those long hours sitting in bed too tired to read or speak, but wide awake, thinking, and alone.

I'll be clear: I don't always want people around when I'm sick. I like to be left alone, especially if I'm too tired or ill to make conversation, or too irritable ( Read more... )

I hope two posts in a row means you're feeling a bit better. Michael says the flu is going around his work right now and it is super nasty. Two weeks worth- so I hope you don't have it that long. I'm sorry you're missing your mom.

I'm feeling significantly better, thankfully. I'm recovering from this a lot faster than most folks appear to be. I at least have unlimited access to food and bed, and a spouse who understands if I need to drop EVERYTHING to go sleep RIGHT NOW.

Get well soon, Naamah. Good vibes heading your way from England right now.
I twitch my feet to some unknown rhythm when I'm falling asleep - it drives anyone I'm sharing a bed with insane, except my sidekick, who seems to be able to live with it.
My mother used to read bedtime stories to me - classics like Swallows and Amazons and The Sword in the Stone. She was really fantastic at it and I really wish, now I am grown, I could ask her to do it again. Nobody read The Sword in the Stone like she did.

i think i understand. like memories trapped in amber. locked away from tactile senses, but there, immobile, yet reflecting an unchanging, immortal connection.

comforting in a way.

*raises paw in your general direction*

I was sick and on my butt for a week and a half recently. I found that the only thing that kept me sane was having tv/movies on in the background even if I wasn't watching actively. Human voices really helped, and it took the stress of interaction off of me.
