If I had to pick a BPAL scent that strikes me as utterly un-perfume-like, this would be it. It does not smell like something a person would volunteer to smell like.

Pew, yes! Malediction *hated* me -- it turned to something that smelled like burning hair and molten rubber and continued to give me a headache even an hour after I'd scrubbed it off. Vetiver does that on me, so I'm also sadly unable to enjoy Iago, but Malediction has probably been the only BPAL that just knocked me over with its "EW GET IT OFF ME"-ness.

Seconded, waaaay too much for me - beraing in mind I adore Typhon, which has lashings of that same red patchouli & vetivert: if I can't deal with it, I fear for anyone else who has less love for them...

Heh..Blood Countess was one that I absolutely loved. For me, it was the Lilacs that came out, which was great cause I LOVE lilacs. They're my fave flower. ;) This was also one of the few that my husband loved also, which was great cause he generally hates the smell of perfume and complains when I wear it.

Okay...

La Petite Morte is going on my wish-list.
(Which grows longer all the damn time... :-P)

Can't say I've ever found a 'dirtiness' to O, though. Maybe I'm just lucky. :-)

And, yes, there's a hint of "tomato leaf." That fuzzy, zippy smell that comes off of unwashed fresh tomato plants. It's not a food smell at all - it's a green gardening growing smell. Gah! Where does Beth get these? Does someone honestly make eau de tomato stems? Remarkable.

Actually, yes. One fragrance chemical company makes a Tomato Leaf Givco ('givco' being their name for a recreation of a natural scent), and it's surprisingly popular.

I'm not surprised; it's a very nostalgic scent, and I'd most likely buy some if I ran across it, just for entertainment value alone.

That kind of makes me happy to know.
