For the past several weeks, I've been watching
harmanhay make this dress. Painstakingly. She worked from a 17th century pattern, with a passing nod to Kiera Knightley's dress from the first Pirates movie, but I think this one is prettier

The sleeves, the slashes and ribbons, and the fact that they are removable, too, are my favorite part.
Next to the lacing down the front. That's just sexier than anything.

The nice thing about lace-up dresses is that they can be squinched in really tight to help support a multitude of squishy bits.

I just found my next wedding dress.
Of course, that'll mean doing away with the current husband, but for that gown? Totally worth it.
