I'm using this icon because things are crazy around here. Yesterday was just Homerically depressing for reasons more psychological than actual, and it was salvaged only by donating blood and getting a free shirt from the gorgeous chick at the front desk

You wrote about your story, and I was ready to pop over to cheer you up with distractions in the form of discussions of sex and bad sex and very very pretty mental images of the sort that hit you while you're wandering around Walmart at 1-something AM and can't do anything about it.
And then those last three paragraphs kind of snuck in, grabbed my heartstrings (whatever the fuck those little buggers are) and yanked.
So, um.
You get lots of hugs, because I don't really know what else I can do. But if you're here, and you want the discussion of dirty sex, it's an open offer.

Meanwhile, I think I just accidentally created a new universe for writing with Abby. Hmm.
Also there's the problem where I'm not sure if LJ is going to let me use html-style brackets (whatever the fuck they're called, you know what I mean) to express a smiley. Hmmmm.
:O!
It works for surprise and yawns both.
:Q? D:? :^O?
Who knows!

But I will say that I would be absolutely ecstatic to see you write something non-pulp-porn. Not that I don't love what I've seen of the pulpy-porn, but I would like to see you win a massive prize.
Enjoy your writing.

This must be an incredibly surreal time for you, and yet altogether TOO really real.
This is the hidden gift of the darkness, and the cold: that it cannot steal all of our warmth or our light.
That is brilliant. And true.
Your dad sounds incredibly cool. I'm a lot like my father, too, actually a lot like his whole side of the family. In my most negative ways, and in some of my most positive.
Duuuuude, you may hate me for this, but as soon as I read that you're into Colonial times and the history of the U.S. West, I thought, "She should write some books set in those timeframes!" And I licked my bibliophile lips (heh, that sounded dirty). As if you don't have enough writing to do without random people on LJ inserting their opinions about it.
