Crazy Time.

Dec 21, 2005 02:00

I'm using this icon because things are crazy around here. Yesterday was just Homerically depressing for reasons more psychological than actual, and it was salvaged only by donating blood and getting a free shirt from the gorgeous chick at the front desk ( Read more... )

*hugs you close*

You wrote about your story, and I was ready to pop over to cheer you up with distractions in the form of discussions of sex and bad sex and very very pretty mental images of the sort that hit you while you're wandering around Walmart at 1-something AM and can't do anything about it.

And then those last three paragraphs kind of snuck in, grabbed my heartstrings (whatever the fuck those little buggers are) and yanked.

So, um.

You get lots of hugs, because I don't really know what else I can do. But if you're here, and you want the discussion of dirty sex, it's an open offer.

Hey. I'm always up for that! :D I just may not get to actually discussing anything until tomorrow -- I theeenk I'm about to crash.

. . .

Is there a yawning smiley?

I... have no idea if there is or not.

Meanwhile, I think I just accidentally created a new universe for writing with Abby. Hmm.

Also there's the problem where I'm not sure if LJ is going to let me use html-style brackets (whatever the fuck they're called, you know what I mean) to express a smiley. Hmmmm.

:O!

It works for surprise and yawns both.

:Q? D:? :^O?

Who knows!

Okay, that's just silly: yawns are contagious in SMILEYS.

When the high point of your day is having a gum-popping sista with inch-long electric-blue fingernails plunge a giant frickin' needle into your arm while she hums out of tune Christmas carols under her breath, you know you have had a bad day. In her defense, though she made a great show of not knowing what the fuck she was doing trying to find my vein, I felt almost nothing when she stuck me, and I haven't got so much as a bruise.

... and as I read this, I feel claws SINK into my side as my cat misses the side of the chair and uses me for a scratching post instead ... >_<

And the timing of it... just as my eyes set on the word "needle" ... I swear to god, I near jumped out of my chair!

I won't comment on your personal stuff.

But I will say that I would be absolutely ecstatic to see you write something non-pulp-porn. Not that I don't love what I've seen of the pulpy-porn, but I would like to see you win a massive prize.

Enjoy your writing.

Man, I'd love some recognition, too! That unfortunately means I'll have to WRITE something worth recognizing. :P

that is a change so profound

This must be an incredibly surreal time for you, and yet altogether TOO really real.

This is the hidden gift of the darkness, and the cold: that it cannot steal all of our warmth or our light.

That is brilliant. And true.

Your dad sounds incredibly cool. I'm a lot like my father, too, actually a lot like his whole side of the family. In my most negative ways, and in some of my most positive.

Duuuuude, you may hate me for this, but as soon as I read that you're into Colonial times and the history of the U.S. West, I thought, "She should write some books set in those timeframes!" And I licked my bibliophile lips (heh, that sounded dirty). As if you don't have enough writing to do without random people on LJ inserting their opinions about it.

I totally intend to write something Western-y at some point, most likely with vampires.
