we have some great burger places here, too. and because there's such a high vegetarian demographic, there's always a veggie burger available for me. ^_^
If you'd rather get back to Terre d'Ange, you've got Kushiel's Scion to look forward to in 2006. And if you're just damn glad there's good, thought-provoking fantasy being written, I hear you.

I think my only complaint about the series and her writing is that you start to pick up on a formula around early book 2. Not that it's necessarily a *bad* formula, but you'll probably figure out where the plots and characters are heading more quickly after book 1. Or at least that was my experience. I envy you, though, would that I could read them all over again for the first time, especially number 2 :)

I will agree that the series is formulaic. But it's damned good fun. :)
Also, any author that opens a series with a homage to The Persian Boy is one with some serious cojones. Confidence like that heralds either a good story, or something hilariously bad. Thankfully for Carey, she told a really good story.

In-fucking-deed. Though did you have to mention "The Persian Boy"? I've been obsessed with laying my hands on it for a month now and if I weren't already buried under a pile of books I'd be reading it as we speak. *sigh* Soon, it will be mine...soon.

The Persian Boy was my first introduction to historical gay romance. And what an introduction it was. :D I envy anybody getting to read it for the first time.

Forget bookgasms. You're going to have chaptergasms.

My husband has been very amused watching my face change expression while I read, something he tells me I only do when it's very good.

All I can say is, if they made this into a movie, Monica Bellucci should get the first crack at that role.

That would be perfect for Melisandre.

I just love everything about it, the world, the intrigue, the characters, the sex... I need to go read them again!

It is? Her website makes no mention of a new Terre D'Ange trilogy. She's got out books 1 & 2 of the Sundering trilogy, with book 3 to come in August.
