I started this piece as a sort of statement of my feelings about H/D and the looming inevitablilty of HBP. All of us in this ship are a little (or a lot) scared or worried about the future to be revealed in canon.
I've said before, I think after OotP came out, that I felt less tied to canon than it seemed some people in the fandom are, since I consider myself primarily a fantasy writer. To me, H/D has always been beloved fantasy. We can't possibly believe it will happen in canon, but I stand by it none-the-less. It exemplifies what I love best in fanfiction - the taking of the impossible and calling it to life.
I believe that no matter what happens, H/D will survive, and thrive. After all, if you have the eyes to see, it has been written in the stars . . .
