The first bloom of sakura was announced by Japanese government yesterday.
I also saw the first bloom at a garden of the temple which is near  my apartment. I smiled unconsciously seeing it.
The flower has such a magical power.

Awww, what a cute piece of art! House looks as if he's ready to party as if he were a teenager on Spring Break.

In Austria we have a place called "Kirschhain" (桜の森), where the Austrian government planted 1000 sakura trees the Japanese government presented us with as a symbol of Austrian-Japanese friendship.

They didn't bloom yet, it's been so cold that it snowed this week, but it's warming up now and there's going to be a "Kirschfest" (さくら祭り) next week at the place.

Thank you so much. Chibi House must have had a dango party under full blooming sakura tree.

And thank you again for the story of 1000 sakura trees in Austria. I read your comment when I took a break after all-day long and hard work. I imagined the scene 1000 sakuras are blooming in faraway country and loved by people. The image touched my heart. I actually dropped tears. *^^*

So kirsch means sakura in Austrian? Sounds lovely. It's always a good thing to learn a new word.
