I've spent my life trying to navigate a world full of people I don't fully understand, using the rules of engagement I was given but that seem to have been out of date at least a decade before I received them and were also not standard issue

It is sad, but then, in reality, I'm slowly accepting that things are as they are and trying to focus on the new and wonderful.
