Oh, I see...

*He writes a bit in silence*

I don't know how helpful I will be.. if it was my cousin Franklin writing this I know it wouldn't be a problem at all. A pureblood Norrington has a bit more clout than a halfblood one, no matter how hard he tries to combat it.

*He writes for a bit, then reads over it*

I think I'm happy with this.

*He signs at the bottom "James Norrington, Esq."*

Have a look at it.

*He hands the letter to her*

Stop thanking me, DG, please.

*He smiles as he folds the letter and seals it with his wand*

Duchess...

*He clucks his teeth and she appears in his window. Opening the window and letting her in, he gives her a treat as he ties the letter to her leg.*

*grins, covering her mouth with her hand to keep from thanking him again*

Oh, is that your owl? She's beautiful...

Yes, she is quite striking. She's long been the only woman in my life.

She was a present from my mum after I passed the bar. She figured a successful barrister would need a good messenger.

Does your mother still work?

No.. my mother never worked.

*He laughs slightly*

Other than raising me, which I'm sure was work. She did take that upon herself, I didn't have endless nannies or governesses.

Well that's quite a job. People don't realize how hard it is to raise a child.

No I suppose they don't... do you want children yourself?

*He hoped she wouldn't read into this*

... *grins over at him*

Yes, I do. Not a lot though... two at most, I think. What about you?

I do want children.. also not a lot. Two sounds like a fit number. Then they could each have a companion.. it would have been nice to have had a companion.
