Loved this, and have tried to phrase my reaction about 5 times...I don't appear to be coherent, so just leaving a note to let you know this was great, as always. :D
Though, to be honest, when I was in 7th grade and I saw the book "To Kill a Mockingbird," I thought it was about killing birds as well. Actual birds, not metaphorical ones. I also thought "Where the Red Fern Grows" was about plants.
Then again, I was twelve or thirteen, so I had an excuse. And once I read them, they both became my most favorite books of all time.
Heheh, one of the more polite ways to respond to Kimmy's antics :P
I don't think I'd heard of the book very much until I was old enough to understand the references around and we studied it in both English and Drama, so not too much of an embarrassing phase for me. And I've never even heard of "Where the Red Fern Grows" :/
Yup, TKaM is amaaaaaazing, as was the play we saw of it. Excellent :)
"Where the Red Fern Grows," is amazing and sad. (I read it when I was about twelve.) We had "To Kill a Mockingbird" for english one year, but honestly I think it went well over the heads of most of the class.
I would hope most of my class got TKaM okay, since we were like 16 and everything, but then I also think it's not quite as pertinent here in its most literal example as some parts of America. But Harper Lee FTW (most pathetic review/recommendation ever :P)
Eh, Justus can handle her, he just doesn't know everything he ought to be handling :P And annoyingly, Kimmy isn't suffering half as much as she probably should be... *hmmm*
Meh, books aren't on Kimmy's list of things she cares about (which, admittedly, is mostly: herself, grilled cheese, being mean, revenge, and not dying :P). Also, living in an apocalypse sucks.
Justus likes a challenge though and he actually greatly enjoys being married to Kimmy in many different ways and reasons :P
Heh, fun for Justus, because he enjoys getting to bring her down a peg or two, and she always climbs back up ^_^ But she does have an... interesting approach to life and things, it is true :P

Then you're as coherent as Justus at the end then :P
Thank you! :D

I think I feel bad for Justus for marrying an arrogant wife.
