I got a very interesting phone call today while I was at work being very frustrated. If you have been reading my journal you know that I recently was offered, and accepted, the ED Case Manager position where I have been employed at and sustained my knee injury at. You might remember my posting back towards the first of the year about interviewing ( Read more... )

lol, That must feel good.

It wouldn't hurt to just talk to them and see what they offer. Good Luck!

Like my header said... its gossip! LOL
I am rather amused that they went with the higher education VS longer experience (in the stated field even) and found out that someone with more book knowledge dosent always mean better.

I will probably talk to them, and when they ask me about salary tell them to tempt me away from where I am now with the new position change and to make up for the insurance differences they will have to offer me at minimum another 25K/yr on top of the original offer they were going to make me back in January! Like thats gonna happen!

It seems to me that any new director of a department is going to have her own ideas of how she wants it. the stirring up of the department may have been that...and if you go in, you'll want to run it your way...and maybe step on a few toes in the process (as she did) but you have to make the decision based on what you know and your experience. I also thought that you needed to have the insurance right away for the kiddos...and isn't there usually a 90 wait period before insurance kicks in?

You are correct. Which is why I am only going to talk to them and not immediatly accept the postion. Like all gossip there is usually more than one side to what you hear and I only have part of the full story.

I do like my new role as ED Case manager where I am and I have tenure on my benefits, whereas if I changed jobs I start everything over.

They would have to make on REALLLLY REALLLLY awsome $$ offer to counter my leaving.

My thoughts are it never hurts to talk to someone. I doubt very seriously the can now meet my salary requirements (see my reply to Kilted-singer as to why) but hey, I am more amused by the turn of events than anything else!
